Jon Rhoades, LCSW, has been providing outpatient therapy at McDowell County Children’s Advocacy Center since August 2016. With a deep commitment to trauma-informed care, Jon offers therapeutic services using a range of evidence-based modalities, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Problematic Sexual Behavior – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for School-Aged Children (PSB-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

Before joining Southmountain, Jon spent a decade in Asheville providing Intensive In-Home Services. His journey into the mental health field followed a career in the automotive industry in Detroit, Michigan. It was his experience volunteering for eight years as a mentor in the Big Brother/Big Sister program that inspired his transition to working with children and families.

Jon is passionate about helping young people heal and thrive. Outside of his clinical work, he enjoys hiking, biking, and reading. He is married and values time spent outdoors and with loved ones.
